How Do I Start Taking Classes?

Is this HOT yoga?

The yoga studio is kept between 82-85 degrees which is considered very warm. Please hydrate before, during and after class as you will sweat in yoga classes.

What happens at Check In and what if I am late or need to leave early?


Please arrive to class 15 minutes prior to start time to ensure you have adequate time to check in, get water, get settled, etc. This is especially important for FIRST TIME STUDENTS so that you can be properly fitted into the bike.


ARRIVING LATE: Please note: We will not allow anyone to enter class once the instructor has started the class. This is for safety of the student and courtesy to the instructor and students in class.

LEAVING EARLY: If you need to leave class before it ends because you are ill, dizzy or another health related issue, please do so quietly and safely. Otherwise, we ask that YOU NOT LEAVE CLASS until the class has ended and the lights have been turned back on.

Can I take a class if I am Pregnant?

Please consult your physician before taking any classes- we have had many expecting mothers take classes and hope you can join in.

Do Credits Expire?

Class credits expire in 365 days from time of purchase.

Are Credits interchangeable for Yoga and Cycling Classes?

Yes. You can use your credits/series cards for either Yoga or cycling classes. Some of our monthly unlimited series are limited to certain classes. See our pricing page for details.

Can I purchase Credits for a Friend?

Yes! You can purchase gift cards on-line or at The Studios. Gift cards are for specific dollar amounts from $10 to $2000.00.

What is Xtend Barre?



Xtend Barre

For decades, devotees have transformed their health through this practice, which provides the perfect balance of safe and challenging work through a blend of, Pilates, ballet, yoga and dance. Lotte Berk (a professional Ballerina) created this practice when she blended orthopedic exercises with her dance training while rehabbing an injury. These days we are seeing an explosion of Lotte Berk-inspired barre programs under a variety of names (Xtend Barre, Core Fusion, Bar Method, Barre Fitness, Physique 57, Dailey Method,Pure Barre).



Benefits

Regular practice (three to five times a week) can increase muscle density, decrease body fat, improve flexibility and posture and rev up your metabolism. The hour-long class is a blend of strength training with your own body weight or light hand weights, interval cardio and lots of stretching.  The ballet-inspired workout focuses on incredibly efficient, tiny movements. Take an average sit-up. There is about a one-inch range of motion that makes up the most challenging and beneficial part of that exercise – call it the sweet spot.  In a barre class, you will spend several minutes holding and working with tiny pulses in that sweet spot until your muscles not only burn but also shake with fatigue. Each muscle group is stretched immediately after it’s worked which promotes longer, leaner muscles and better recovery so you are less sore the next day.

Do I have to be in shape to take classes?

CYCLE: These classes are for all levels. Arrive early for your first class so the instructor can fit you properly. Do what you can. Don’t do anything you’re uncomfortable doing. Tell the instructor you are a beginner.




YOGA: designed to be appropriate for all fitness levels. You do what you can, and you are always welcome to come out of positions you cannot sustain. Our instructors are trained to assist people of all abilities. We have props to help you get into the proper position as you begin your practice. With time, you will get better and better!




XTEND BARRE: Perfect for all abilities. Modifications are given for all exercises and insturctors can work with students to find the perfect balance between  improving fitness and carefully avoiding injury. No dance background is necessary. However, you wil feel like a dancer when you are done!

Is Child Care Available?

We offer Child Care at Montecito Heights Health Club. You may use child care if you are taking a class at The Studios. Reservations are required. $10.00 per hour per child. Click here for details.

Is the Studio available for Private Parties?

We love hosting Private Parties!

Groups of 1-15 students: $200 per hour

For every student above 15 add $12 per person.

Indoor Cycling: 40

Yoga: 30

How do I Sign Up for Classes?

Go to the Reservation page and choose a class time you like. From there, just click on any available bike, xtend barre or yoga spot. If a class is full, you can put yourself on the waitlist. If a bike or yoga spot opens up in that class, you'll be placed into the class and notified via email or phone.

When Can I Sign Up for Classes?

Advanced Booking: You can book any class within 14 days using your monthly unlimited series. We encourage you to sign up for your favorite classes as soon as possible as many classes fill up quickly. Reservations for classes two weeks out open up at 8pm.

Class per day limit: All Monthly unlimited students can sign up for 1 class per day. You can come to more, but you can not make a reservation.

Can I Cancel a Reservation?

You must cancel a class 4 hours before your scheduled class in order to avoid penalty. You can cancel on-line under MY Account.  If you cancel within 4 hours of your class, you will forfeit one credit (or $5 if you are on monthly unlimited membership). You will need to call to cancel your class within 4 hours of class time to avoid the "no show fee".



The Studios reserves the right to suspend student's ability to reserve classes if an excessive number of cancellations and/or no shows occur.

What Happens If I don't Show Up for Class?

If you don’t cancel and just don’t show up-you will forfeit one credit AND be charged a $15 No Show fee.

Is there a Wait List?

Yes, there is a wait list option. Please note that you will be notified by email as soon as a bike or yoga spot has opened up for you. Remember, when you put yourself on a waitlist, the system uses one of your credits to hold your place and automatically places you in class when a spot opens. You will be sent an email once you have been placed in class from the wait list.

YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE STUDIOS AS THE STUDIOS MAY NOT BE OPENED WHEN THIS TAKES PLACE.  If you have made other plans and do not plan to attend class, please remove yourself from the wait list to avoid penalty. You may remove yourself under My Account on our website.



The auto-enroll from the wait list ends 8 hours prior to class start time.



Within 8 hours of class start time: The Waitlist will expire. You can always come to The Studios 15 minutes before class and we will try to get you in to class on a first come, first served basis.

What should I Bring to Cycle Class?


  1. Cycle shoes are very helpful-SPD clips work with our bikes. If you don’t own a pair, wear hard sole shoes.

  2. Padded bike shorts are recommended.

  3. Water. Water. Water. In a closed container. All beverages must be a closed container. No other drinks will be allowed into the Studio.

  4. A Towel. If you forget one, The Studios will have hand towels for sale.

What should I bring to Yoga Class?



  1.   A Mat-The Studios will have mats for rent if you forget yours.


  2.   A towel-for your mat and to wipe your brow.


  3.   Water in a closed container. The room is kept warm and hydration is important
